STORY TIME: Namapriya Mataji narrated the story of Kaliya, how the serpent Kaliya was poisoning the river Yamuna, causing distress to the cows and people of Vrindavan and how Lord Krishna protected his devotees and cows by subduing Kaliya.

Practical Applications:
1. Never cause problems to the devotees or talk bad about the devotees.
2. God protects those who always pray to Him.

Parents please read chapter 16 from Krsna book to your kids or click the following link for the chapter http://krsnabook.com/ch16.html

Mataji also taught the value of following the instructions of a bonafide(real) Guru and being in the association of devotees by telling the following story.

There was a weaver named Madhav. His wife, Lakshmi was God conscious, a very nice devotee of Lord Krishna. She regularly visited the temple, prayed to the Lord, chanted Lord's Holy name everyday but her husband Madhav was work conscious, always weaving to make money to support the family and never spent any time for praying to the Lord.

Lakshmi decided to get initiation from a real Guru and she requested her husband to come for the initiation ceremony but Madhav said that he needed to work and did not have any time to come to the temple.

Guru Maharaj asked Lakshmi where her husband was. Lakshmi replied that Madhav won't take any time to come to the temple. So, Guru thinking to help Madhav insisted Lakshmi to bring her husband to see him the next day. Lakshmi went back home and asked Madhav to visit Guru Maharaj for few minutes. Madhav said that he cannot spend any time away from weaving.

Next day, Lakshmi went and said to Guru Maharaj that Madhava won’t even take time for a visit and she couldn’t do anything. So, Guru Maharaja still wanting to help Madhav went to see Madhav and told Madhav “you don’t need to do anything, except before you start your work, look for a devotee with tilak on his forehead”. Madhav thought,” Wow", that this was such a simple instruction and he can follow regularly without wasting any time from weaving because a
devotee named Mukunda lived opposite to Madhav’s home who always wore tilak everyday to work.

So, following Maharaj’s instruction, everyday Madhav would wake up, finish his morning duties and start his weaving only after looking at the devotee Mukunda. This went on for months. However, one day, Madhav couldn’t find Mukunda and he went to look for Mukunda as it had became a habit to see the tilak marked devotee early in the morning everyday before he started his work. He asked everyone and started searching for Mukunda.

At the end of the day, someone pointed towards the direction Mukunda went and Madhav followed in that direction. Far from the cave, Madhav saw the devotee Mukunda standing in the cave with 2 pots. Madhav was very happy that he found Mukunda and ran to his home shouting “I saw, I saw”, and started his work atlast.

After a while, Mukunda came to Madhav’s home and talked to Lakshmi about the 2 pots of treasure of gold coins he had found in the cave. Mukunda gave 1 pot of treasure to Lakshmi and asked her and Madhav not to let the world know that he found treasures in the cave.

Finally, Madhav became wealthy simply by following the instructions of a true spiritual master. From that day on, Madhav always took time to pray to God before he started his work, went to temple regularly and thanked the Lord every day.

Practical Applications:
1. Pray to God, no matter how busy you are with your work or studies.
2. Go to temple regularly and thank the Lord for everything you have received.

Looking forward to seeing all of you in the next class.
